Take-down and rebuild

Solar Panel Removal and Reinstallation in Hazel Crest

Each module tagged, each fitting written onto a manifest and the whole set kept safe until your new roof is ready to receive it.

The Paperwork Is What Brings an Array Back Whole

An array that looks like one tidy surface from the street turns into a surprising pile of parts once it leaves the roof: modules, rail sections, end clamps, mid clamps, footings, conduit runs and connectors, all of which have to find their way back weeks later onto shingles that were not there when they came down. Solar Panel Removal Hazel Crest handles that problem the way an estimator would, with a written manifest. Before the first fastener is loosened, we photograph how the array is laid out and wired and note what it is generating. The power is then shut off and the circuits disconnected in sequence, and the take-down begins. Every module receives a tag number tied to a slot map of the roof, and every rail, clamp and fitting is counted onto the manifest, which goes into storage with the equipment, where it stays clear of knocks, standing water and anyone who might walk off with it. Once your new roof is complete, fresh footings are installed and each hole through the roof is re-flashed, the rails are rebuilt, the modules go back into the slots their tag numbers call for and the manifest is ticked off item by item. The array is reconnected and its output compared with the earlier figure. All of that labor is backed by our 5-year workmanship warranty, and the photographs, slot map and manifest are yours to keep.

Line Items Inside a Take-Down and Rebuild

Set out in the order they occur, so you can match each one to your estimate.

  • Photographs and a generation figure

How the array is laid out, how it is wired and what it is producing, noted before the work.

  • Power off in sequence

Circuits shut down and disconnected in the proper order before take-down starts.

  • Complete take-down

Modules, rails and conduit lifted off so the roofing crew inherits bare decking.

  • Tag numbers and a slot map

Every module numbered against a sketch of the roof so it returns to its own slot.

  • A written parts manifest

Rails, clamps, footings and conduit counted out and later counted back in.

  • Careful storage

Equipment kept away from knocks, standing water and theft while the reroof runs.

  • Fresh footings and flashing

New attachments set and each roof hole re-flashed following the shingle maker's details.

  • Rebuild and output comparison

Modules back in their numbered slots, circuits rejoined and generation compared with the earlier figure.

Three Phases on the Estimate

  1. Scoping

We take down the module count, the roof type, the roofing calendar and who owns the system, and where a lease is involved, we ask you to check the agreement or the leasing company before booking. The itemized estimate reaches you by phone, usually within 48 hours.

  2. Take-down

Shortly before the shingles are stripped, the photographs are taken, the power is shut off and every module and fitting is tagged, counted onto the manifest and moved into storage.

  3. Rebuild

With the reroof finished, footings and flashing go in, each module is seated in its numbered slot, the manifest is ticked off and output is compared with the earlier figure.

Why a Manifest Matters on Your Roof

  • Shortfalls caught early

With every fitting counted, a missing clamp turns up in storage rather than halfway through the rebuild.

  • Modules back in their own slots

Tag numbers and the slot map keep each module on the circuit it was wired into.

  • Labor backed for five years

The take-down and rebuild are covered by a written 5-year workmanship warranty.
